Booking appointments is done each morning through telephone triage 08:30 - 11:00. The doctors on call that day will call the patient back and arrange an appropriate management plan . No routine telephone calls are taken in the afternoon. Emergency telephone requests can be made in the afternoon.
Our receptionist may enquire about your symptoms to help us ensure that medical emergencies though unusual are quickly dealt with.

Patients are entitled to have a chaperone present for any consultation, examination or procedure where they consider one is required. Patients are advised to ask for a chaperone if required, at the time of booking an appointment, if possible, so that arrangements can be made and the appointment is not delayed in any way. The healthcare professional may also require a chaperone to be present for certain consultations.
We are a teaching practice and have students on attachment. Should you wish the student to leave during your consultation, please make this known.
If you are house-bound and need a home visit, please phone before 11am.
The receptionist will ask you about your illness to help the doctor.
Health Check for over 75’s
A free health check is available at the practice if you are over 75 and haven’t been seen in the last 3 years.
Cancel an Appointment
It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.
You can also complete our appointment cancellation notification request form. This can only be used if your appointment has been arranged for more than 24 hours in advance. (excluding weekends and public holidays). You can also text to cancel your appointment.
Text Reminder Service
We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.
To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.
